Backhand Tips Part 1
I'd first like to apologize for the weird exposure and "fogginess" on the lens. It has been super humid and I finished this video 10 minutes before a huge storm rolled in!
Anywho! I have enjoyed learning the ins and outs of the backhand form. In this episode of this tip series, I’ll be sharing how incorporating your left arm can keep you rounding but also help with shoulder and hip rotation. I hope this turns a light bulb on in your head and you head out to the field to try this. Let me know in the comments below what other tips I could share… Next up: How to angle your body when throwing specific shots.

Sibbe DGC Back 9
Переглядів 678Місяць тому
Let’s get right into the back 9! This course was not only demanding off the tee but physically demanding with the rocky terrain and elevation. We were definitely feeling the lack of sleep and hydration towards the end of the round. Overall, we had a blast playing this course. Like Colten mentioned in the video, there hasn’t been an event there this year but it looks like they could play one tom...

On our final day in Finland we decided to play the 66th rated course on UDisc! We have heard wonderful things about this course and since it’s rated #3 in Finland, we had to. It did not disappoint! With its rocky terrain and beautifully carved fairways, it was a joy to throw plastic on this course. I wish the quality was better so you could see the flights but we do what we can when we are film...

Follow along as we play Boylan Acres Extreme DGC. I apologize there isn't more audio. The mics got messed up somewhere throughout the round. There are also times I do not get Colten's shots because either I forgot to hit play or we were on other sides of the fairway and your girl didn't want to hike over. Both Extreme and Arduous has snuck into our top 30 courses played. It is both a physical a...

We always enjoy coming back to Stockton, CA for the OTB Open presented by MVP. It had everything a touring Pro disc golfer could need. My personal favorite part is that the disc golfers who travel in vehicles all get to stay on site. This brings out more putting games at the putting area and everyone socializes a lot more. The putting green they have set up for us is top notch with enough pract...

Colten and I had the pleasure of stopping at the Lester Lorch property while we were in Texas! The property has two courses that you can play, but we chucked some discs on the Beaver course. We enjoyed the course a lot! Players of all levels could enjoy this course as long as they can hit a line and stay in the fairway. The course is well kept and very straight forward with simple tee signs. I ...

    The tip of pulling out your left arm is also intuitive and so much easier to implement than thinking about 5 different things. I don’t have to think so hard about reach back and follow through I just think about pulling my left arm back which opens the shoulder and then punching it down which helps with hip timing. Thank you it was explained so simply and effectively.

    Thanks, Kona. When i first started playing years ago, I thought I had to "muscle" it for distance ~ you demonstrate here that it is more about a smooth, efficient transfer of potential energy into the disc which responds kinetically

    Uh, welcome back Kona! Really good video. I do have a question that no other form coach or pro has addressed. From the X step to the plant, I notice pros are able to move their center of mass forward, balanced, while striding out. How are they doing that? My center of mass has to be over my back leg for balance, which means when I step forward, my body is falling forward and down on to my brace. This causes a lot of issues with my pull through because I think I'm pulling flat but because I'm falling forward it's changing my launch angle

    • @KonaDiscGolf
      @KonaDiscGolf 9 днів тому

      My initial thoughts are to start with some standstills and play more with the weight shift. It sounds like you are leaning forward too soon. Be patient, don’t lean back TOO far but make sure the weight shift is happening at the same time you’re pulling through. Practice standstills and get more comfortable with a more center of balance

    • @Iliyena87
      @Iliyena87 9 днів тому

      How far is far enough for most FPO-players? ...most male players do not reach 400' with several years practicing form being taller. Far enough for MP40, MA2, MA3 for sure even not thinking about all the female divisions.

    • @phlogiston7304
      @phlogiston7304 9 днів тому

      Study her form ~ apply whatever is useful ~ let others do the same. If nothing here is beneficial to you, explore other sources until you find what you are looking for. Leave no negative energy behind ~ it has a way of returning to you on the disc golf course when you least expect it
